Explanation
DPF
is a acronym for Diesel Particulate Filter. DPF's were introduced
by the big three automakers in the light duty on road truck market
in 2007. A DPF is a device located in the trucks exhaust system that
is designed to removed diesel particulate matter (soot) from the exhaust
gas of the diesel engine. When functioning properly, the filter can
remove close to 100% of the soot from a diesel engines exhaust gasses. |
